The Premier League rivals clashed on their pre-season tours and put on a show for their fans in Australia.
David Moyes’ side took the lead in the first half through Danny Ings and then doubled their advantage thanks to Divin Mubamba.
Spurs had to improve in the second half and after making 11 changes at the break, they did.
Giovani Lo Celso and Destiny Udogie completed a quickfire comeback but all of Postecoglou’s side’s hard work was undone soon after.
Gianluca Scamacca was played through by Pablo Fornals before he calmly slotted in a late winner for his side.
